El Salvador

The Roman Catholic Bishop Oscar Romero, was assassinated in his cathedral, in San Salvador; 1980. It is an event depicted in the film ‘Salvador’. The bishops murder and indeed his work with and support of the poor, in opposition to the foreign policy of the USA has never been fully investigated. The Vatican has done little to honour him.
Around the same time three American Nuns were also murdered.

Joya de Ceren is a Mayan Archaeological site near El Salvador, similar to Herculaneum in Italy were a Volcano covered the Town and its people in ash long long ago.
